Coworking spaces are on the rise across the globe. Some studies show that last year alone the growth of newly opened spaces was 34%. This growth is directly correlated with the rising number of freelancers worldwide, which is great news for all people who cherish the work-life balance. Freelancing allows us to work as much as we want, from wherever we want and that freedom and flexibility is the reason why 86% of freelancers are happy to work by the project whereas only 2% would like to be employees again.
Most of the coworking spaces are located in large cities, which makes sense, since that’s where most of the freelancers live. However, large cities are getting overcrowded, commuting time is rising, cost of living is through the roof and pollution levels are high. All these inconveniences that come hand in hand when living in a large cities are making way for a new type of coworking spaces – rural coworking spaces.
Rural coworking retreats are coworking spaces that are situated in remote, non-urban spots, such as the countryside, islands, mountains, ect. The first obvious advantage of a rural coworking space, is that a person gets a chance to get away from the city’s noise, racket and hastle. Working in a smaller communities or somewhere completely remote allows you to fully focus on your work. Also if you work in a small team, the bonds made in rural coworking spaces tend to be stronger, since in these situations you normally live and work from the same place. On the other hand, non work related activities tend to be another positive point for the rural spaces. Wherever you decide go, contact with nature seems to be eminent. Whether that includes, hikes and bike rides, swimming or surfing, skiing or rock climbing, living outside of the cites allows us to reconnect with the nature – which is what most of us need from time to time. Working out from a rural coworking space, also tends to be cheaper than just living in a city.
Rural coworking spaces seems to have a retro sound to it, as if you were traveling back in time to go to some coworking space in the outback, but this doesn’t have to be so and here in Mokrin House, we have proved it. With the clever use of design, technology and architecture, we managed to create an urban spot in rural setting. This way we are making sure that all our coworkers have all the comforts they would normally have. Thing such as fast internet, comfortable beds, great coffee and diverse food are just some of the standards we set to ourselves.
Working from the countryside is not for everybody nor a permanent solution for all, and we at Mokrin House understand that. We understand that from time to time everybody needs the energy that large cities emit, we need the concerts and galleries, we need our friends and family. We know this because, we are like you, people who like to have a balance in life, which is why we created Mokrin House. We created a place where we come to both fill up our batteries and work to the bone. To both meet new people and reflect on life in silence and solitude. Mokrin House is a not just a house, but a home to all of us who live our lives like everybody else, just a little bit differently.
